Teeing off should be the next thing to work on after you have mastered your grip. At this moment, your concentration will truly going to come into the fore. The mechanics behind the backswing notion is a totally different idea. Although the backswing is much slower than the downswing, it should not be any less powerful and should complement trhe downswing. You should also remember that your downswing should be faster than you’re your backswing between 25 percent and 30 percent.

Your backswing movement should have your left shoulder and your hips in the correct position, especially when you shift your weight to the right side. This motion is going to be the opposite, though, for left-handed players. If you practice this motion then it will become natural to you over time.
