Can You Ever Have a Correct Golf Swing?
Yes but only once you figure out the necessary chain of actions a correct golf swing requires from you. If you can incorporate this chain into your golf swing then everything would be okay and you could start to enjoy your golf game. Like all procedures start with a step by step analysis for developing the correct golf swing.
Just What is A Golf Swing Anyway?
A correct golf swing is a series of actions that require each step to be followed correctly by the next step. When you perform all of these actions correctly the result will be a solid golf shot. If you do not perform the chain of action suitably you will not be able to hit a solid golf shot. There, that clears up all the confusion for you right? Not So fast!
The Hand That Holds the Club
Most of the golf mistakes made come from not holding the club correctly. Most great golfers concur that the process of gripping the club too tightly causes the problems of hooking and slicing. If your golf drives are heading in directions that you had not planned then your grip is probably wrong. Being neutral with your grip on the club is needed; that translates as not too strong or too weak. A correct neutral grip will show at least two or three knuckles on the left hand. When looking down at your grip and if you cannot see either two or three knuckles then start to rotate your hands until you do.
Check your Body Alignment
Another problem that often occurs is golfers not having their body properly aligned as they address the ball. You will never be able to get good results from a correct golf swing if your body is not properly aligned to the target. The very first step is to select your target. To do this you should stand behind your ball. Choose your target and then put the head of the club on the ground aligned with the target. Next, align your shoulders, hips and feet on a line that is slightly left of the target. Use caution not to close the face of the club which would then result in a hook. Your head should be behind the ball and not lifted so as to pull you out of your correct posture swing.
Are Your Feet in Good Standing?
In order to make a straight shot you use what is called a square stance. This stance requires your feet to be pointed just left of the target. When making a shot from the sand trap or when chipping use the open stance where your left foot is pulled back. Make sure that your feet are spaced correctly which is never more than shoulder width for driving the ball. Regarding the golf ball, line it up with your left heal for using the longer fairway woods or driver. For your short irons place the ball in the middle of your stance.
Let’s Make The Correct Golf Swing
Now is the time to make a correct golf swing.Once you have done all the above check items correctly now bring the club back while keeping your arms straight. Keep the left arm totally straight through the swing but the right arm will bend at the elbow as it reaches your waist. Don’t jerk the club but use a smooth swing path and keep it low to the ground. When doing a full golf swing you need to have the end of the club being parallel to the ground for the backswing. Not all shots will be full swings so judge the distance of your backswing for club level. In your backswing, begin to slightly shift your weight but only enough to make sure your right hip does not go past your right foot. Check that your right shoulder is pointing upward while your left shoulder is pointing downward. Your head stays behind the ball while moving it forward on a horizontal level. Your hips should not be rotated too drastically but your hips and back should move in natural unison. When going into the downswing do not use your hands to start. Your hips should be used to start the downswing. It is critical to have the left hip allow your weight to shift to your left foot. When this chain of actions is done correctly your golf swing should flow without effort and you will then attain the maximum club head speed resulting in a correct golf swing. Keep in mind that for a full golf swing you want your head, shoulders and hips facing your target after your follow through shot. The only thing left for you then is to admire watching your ball rip down the fairway.

Choosing Which Golf Swing Plane To Use

There are two different swing planes you can choose from when playing golf. These planes are opposites of each other and are used for different things as a flat plane produces more power while an upright plant provides greater accuracy.
There are three separate sections to a golf swing; the backswing, the downswing and the follow through. Before you can chose which swing plane to use it is important that you have proper and correct form for your golf swing otherwise you will always have problems with the different swing planes. You can practice good form by videotaping yourself or by swinging in front of a full length mirror.
Before you can even begin to work on the swing plane you need to be using a proper golf swing and there are three parts to work on; the golf back swing, the golf downswing and the follow through of your swing. Before you can work on the different golf planes you need to be able to perform a perfect swing every time using muscle memory. It is good to see yourself in a mirror or to tape yourself when swinging to see what needs improvement.
An upright swing plane usually has the hands achieve a very high position at to the top of the backswing. Instead of completely swinging round your shoulders the arms will rise up to change the plane. The greater the gap you achieve between your right arm and body than the more upright the swing is.
If you want to change between the different wings then you will need to remember the positions unique to each plane. The name can really help you to remember what to do, as they describe it plane very well.
If you are having problems mastering the different planes then you should not try to correct it on the golf course. If you attempt to fix things when you are playing a game you will simply be frustrated and will not make any progress. It is best to go to a driving range or other spot in which you can practice.
These two golf swing planes are quite different and generally a professional may only use one. It is up to you to choose the best swing for your golf game.

Golf is really a great activity. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by women and men, no matter what their age. If you are trying to find the right way to develop your handicap then you’ll have to focus on your golf swing tempo. For most players it is this aspect of their overall performance that’ll pinpoint how well they play.
When we first pick up a club it may take a lot of practice to develop the correct posture and swing. Don’t get frustrated if you keep on slicing your balls into the rough or a water feature. Even the most popular players had to start with the fundamentals. It takes time and experience to acquire the right skills. Even if your golf swing tempo is just off then the ball will not be hit as desired.
To get the swing right you’ll need to learn about the correct positioning of your hips, shoulders, arms, and wrists. Through understanding the right posture you will find it much easier to get the tempo and swing to go as hoped. It should require an all in one motion. By emptying your mind of all over thoughts and simply focusing on the ball and where you want it to land you will see better results.
As with any sport, the more you practice the better you will become. Golf is no different. To develop a good golf swing will require many months of practice. To be a specialist at any sporting activity requires determination and effort, if you are not committed then it will be harder for you to achieve the results you are after. The best golf swings are those that are natural, the less thought involved the better.
When you swing the clubs keep the motion smooth and steady; this is on both upswing and downswing. By studying the world’s top players you’ll see just how smooth their tempo swing is.
There are other factors that will determine how you will make contact with the ball. For instance the grip you have is as vital as your overall posture. Though there are a few ways to hold a club, most professionals will place their hands and fingers in the same way around the top.
Only after all the dynamics are fully understood and carried out in the right way will you be able to have a golf swing that makes you the envy of all the other players on the course.

Learning The Ideal Golf Swing Technique
November 13, 2009 by articles
Golf is one of those sports which can be very rewarding and very frustrating at the same time. Your swing is one of the hardest things to perfect; and many say that you never really perfect it but instead there’s a continual process of improvement. At least this is the idea – you may find yourself trying and trying, only to have something go slightly wrong. Once you do hit that ideal drive, it’s a gratifying thing except for that nagging question of why all your drives can’t go so smoothly.
Your Swing Practice is what makes your drives successful or less than successful and like any sport, there is some quantifiable technique involved in getting your swing where you want it to be – however, what you have to do is to find a swing which works perfectly for you. It’s easier said than done, but if you put the tips which follow into action, you may find yourself with a golf swing technique which can get your game to the next level.
The 3 Parts Of The Swing
There are three parts to any golf swing: the backswing, the downswing and the follow through and all of these must flow together and be fluid motions in themselves. Perfecting your technique requires working through each of these three parts and many players find it more useful to work on each part of their swing independently.
The Stance
If you’re not an advanced player, then you should probably stick with the same stance every time. Your feet should be slightly apart, lined up with your shoulders, knees bent slightly; just enough to help you to keep balanced as you shift your weight during the backswing.
The Grip
You may also want to stick with the same grip. For those who are less expert golfers, then you’ll want to use a simple interlocking grip which is just tight enough to keep control over your club as you swing while having enough give to make your swing work.
Practicing while Playing
You can improve your golf swing technique by using your games as an opportunity to practice. Naturally, you don’t want to practice your swing constantly while other people are trying to focus on their shots, but whenever the chance presents itself to practice while you’re on the green, take advantage of it.
Get In Better Shape
Being in good shape and flexible isn’t just good for your health, but also for your game. When you’ve built up more strength and flexibility, you’ll have better balance and more control over your shots. If you’re all about the long drives, this will also help you with that.
There are a lot of different things which go into building a winning golf swing technique. The tips here are only a start – there is a lot more which you’ll want to work on, but these basics can help you to take your golf swing and your entire game to the next level.
