As You Turn

A great backswing is often considered to be a good start to the perfect golf swing, but there is quite some work to be done after this. When you have got your backswing in action, make sure to have your right arm in the best position. As you swing back, make sure it is brought closer to your body. One note–Be as loose as possible here!

What direction is your club shaft pointing – is it pointing up? Is it pointing straight back? If this happens, at this point of time, your wrists should start bending naturally. Make sure your grip does not tighten on the club yet. You want to stay as loose as you can, while mantaining good control of your club.

The overall goal of the backswing is to set yourself up for the perfect downswing. For this to happen, your left shoulder, your arms and wrist should be almost in the opposite direction as it was at the start of your backswing. Once this happens, you are good to commence your downswing. I hope these quick tips have helped you understand a bit more about the golf swing.
