Learning The Ideal Golf Swing Technique

Golf is one of those sports which can be very rewarding and very frustrating at the same time. Your swing is one of the hardest things to perfect; and many say that you never really perfect it but instead there’s a continual process of improvement. At least this is the idea – you may find yourself trying and trying, only to have something go slightly wrong. Once you do hit that ideal drive, it’s a gratifying thing except for that nagging question of why all your drives can’t go so smoothly.

Your Swing Practice is what makes your drives successful or less than successful and like any sport, there is some quantifiable technique involved in getting your swing where you want it to be – however, what you have to do is to find a swing which works perfectly for you. It’s easier said than done, but if you put the tips which follow into action, you may find yourself with a golf swing technique which can get your game to the next level.

The 3 Parts Of The Swing

There are three parts to any golf swing: the backswing, the downswing and the follow through and all of these must flow together and be fluid motions in themselves. Perfecting your technique requires working through each of these three parts and many players find it more useful to work on each part of their swing independently.

The Stance

If you’re not an advanced player, then you should probably stick with the same stance every time. Your feet should be slightly apart, lined up with your shoulders, knees bent slightly; just enough to help you to keep balanced as you shift your weight during the backswing.

The Grip

You may also want to stick with the same grip. For those who are less expert golfers, then you’ll want to use a simple interlocking grip which is just tight enough to keep control over your club as you swing while having enough give to make your swing work.

Practicing while Playing

You can improve your golf swing technique by using your games as an opportunity to practice. Naturally, you don’t want to practice your swing constantly while other people are trying to focus on their shots, but whenever the chance presents itself to practice while you’re on the green, take advantage of it.

Get In Better Shape

Being in good shape and flexible isn’t just good for your health, but also for your game. When you’ve built up more strength and flexibility, you’ll have better balance and more control over your shots. If you’re all about the long drives, this will also help you with that.

There are a lot of different things which go into building a winning golf swing technique. The tips here are only a start – there is a lot more which you’ll want to work on, but these basics can help you to take your golf swing and your entire game to the next level.

Learn To Golf: Finding the Perfect Swing

Of the millions of people who have played the game, a staggeringly small number could wilfully hit the ball where they aimed.Just two.Can you guess the names of both players?

The first, and best known one was Ben Hogan. The other is Moe Norman. Moe is a legend among three generations of tour players. He was a Canadian pro who rarely left his home country but was well known to all the top touring pros from Lee Trevino and Nick Price all the way to present day superstar, Tiger Woods.

My exposure to Ben Hogan has been through my ever enlarging collection of dvds and online videos. Moe, on the other hand, I saw live on a number of occasions both during tournament play and at clinics he gave later in his career.

For two days I was in Moe’s group during a tournament in Ontario because I was looping for Alvie Thompson, an accomplished Canadian Tour player in the 1960′s and 70′s.

What set these two apart from virtually all their peers? What set them apart?

Just think what an anomaly they are. Of the legions of folks who have played the game, only these two gentlemen could point and hit it to that spot.

There is little doubt that Moe was not your mainstream personality and was incomprehensible at the best of times.

His frequent feuding with the RCGA, the ruling body of golf in Canada, did not enhance his image or endear him to the public.

Few were interested in what Moe had to say about the golf swing given the fact that he looked so unorthodox over the ball. Because Moe spoke in riddle and repeated himself habitually, few bothered to try to examine what he was trying to say. He was often ignored or dismissed as an aberration incapable of sensibly explaining how he executed his considerable ball striking skills. It was difficult at best to weave a comprehensible swing theory from the thought fragments that Moe shared from time to time.

New theories now abound from an assortment of golf lab rats who are now trying to re-engineer the magic of Moe’s swing.

This has spawned the emergence of a number of competing “swing theories”, each purporting to have uncovered the Da Vinci Code that is Moe’s swing  . The claims of offering golfing nirvana based on Moe’s swing have been greatly exaggerated and are, frankly, disappointing.

The pretender swings being marketed today lack the power and penetrating ball flight of the original swing. Few of the methods which purport to piggyback on Moe’s move replicate the man’s powerful action through the ball .

My colleagues and I have tried these new methods and to a man (and a lady) all have encountered a disturbing loss of distance with every club in the bag.

In my youth, I caddied on one of the minor pro tours. As I indicated previously,Moe was one of three pros in our group for the first two days of the tournament.

Moe preferred movement to the hit and hold pattern so commonly associated with tournament golf. He compensated by wandering about chatting to himself when waiting for those ahead to hit or putt out. To cope with the tedium, Moe was constantly dropping balls down wherever and chipping them . Where other players might pace about, Moe was more unusual in the manner in which he expressed his nervous tension.

It is now difficult to know what is true and what is not when the subject of Moe’s on course and off course behaviour is discussed. The stories are certainly more suspect when they come from former caddies! Though it might be difficult to sort fact and fiction,no one disputes Moe’s ball striking. Remarkably, long into his senior years Moe still struck the ball with potency and purity.

I saw up close and personal just how unerringly straight Moe Norman was . Because Moe conducted his exhibition up the fairway of a par 4, I had the unique opportunity to shag balls for him.It was disappointing that so few people came out that day to see truly one of the greatest ball strikers of this or any era. So accurate was the man that he literally was bouncing the balls at the feet of my colleague and myself. He simply motioned to back us up to a new position when he changed clubs and the balls would begin to rain down with predictable monotony. It was always hypnotizing to just sit there and revel in the artistry of the man.

The diversity in personality between Ben Hogan and Moe Norman could not be greater. Inasmuch as Moe was eccentric, Ben Hogan was both aloof and dismissive. Though Moe struggled to explain the elements of his great ball striking, Ben Hogan, by contrast, made no concerted attempt to share his secrets with the rest of the golfing fraternity. The Hogan move has bewidered and befuddled a generation of golfers devoted to unravelling its mystery. The mystery of the Hogan swing has been an elusive quest which has consumed hundreds of golfers for over a half century.

Despite the efforts of the golfing community to reverse engineer the Hogan swing, the mystery prevails. Hogan has many imitators but few would claim that they are true exhibitors of the method.  It is likely that Hogan would not be dissatisfied with the current state of affairs . Like an Eastern mystic, he advised those who sought his knowledge to find it themselves by digging it out of the dirt. This qualifies as the kind of advice a crusty Calvinist gives to his children.

Hogan viewed life as antagonistic to his interests. To be fair, Hogan did not search out these qualities in others. He was a professional golfer you appreciated but didn’t love.Hogan did not bridge the gap between himself and the fans of the game

To obtain what some might call the perfect golf swing, you will have to put in a great deal of time. Trying to find the perfect trajectory has always been a huge challenge, it will take years of practice to really dial this in.

Are you interested in a really good system to improve your golf swing? The Simple Swing Review

A great start has to be made for a perfect golf swing, and nothing better than
focusing on your back swing here. A perfect golf swing is by no means an simple task to achieve, however if you can just master your backswing to start, you’ve just won the war, yes it is a war.

Intro To The Takeaway

You don’t have to be Tiger to get the ball way down the fairway, you just have to strike it well. To achieve this, you have to first make sure your body and club are aligned correctly. Try to keep your club right on the ground as you start your backswing. For right-handed players, be sure to have your left shoulder positioned slightly above the right shoulder (This will be the opposite for left-handers). It’s important to mention here – As you start your backswing, make sure your not swinging too fast. Too much speed in your backswing will cause you nothing but trouble, if your not a tour pro right now just slow down and focus on your technique. This is such an important lesson to learn early on, only if your very experienced does it make sense to go faster in your backswing.

Why is it that most beginner’s are only interested in hitting the ball as hard as they possibly can. Well, a lot of newbie golfers do this, but not to worry – All you have to do is practice to sync up all your body parts to start swinging together. In most cases, you will find that in doing so, you will have a fluid motion of your arms and shoulders, which will give your hit the desired power and direction too.

Power, accuracy, consistency, these should all be any determined golfers goals. It boils down to how bad you want it, how willing are you to achieve this type of play. Want to play better golf, everytime out, click this link to read more,Golf Swing Perfection

As You Turn

A great backswing is often considered to be a good start to the perfect golf swing, but there is quite some work to be done after this. When you have got your backswing in action, make sure to have your right arm in the best position. As you swing back, make sure it is brought closer to your body. One note–Be as loose as possible here!

What direction is your club shaft pointing – is it pointing up? Is it pointing straight back? If this happens, at this point of time, your wrists should start bending naturally. Make sure your grip does not tighten on the club yet. You want to stay as loose as you can, while mantaining good control of your club.

The overall goal of the backswing is to set yourself up for the perfect downswing. For this to happen, your left shoulder, your arms and wrist should be almost in the opposite direction as it was at the start of your backswing. As all this happens, you will find that the club is high in the air, above your head. Your front knee should be slightly bent, in line with your back knee. Once this happens, you are good to commence your downswing. I hope these quick tips have helped you understand a bit more about the golf swing.

Always remember there is no special pill here, it’s how hard your going to work to improve your game. Here is another article if your interested to learn more,Golf Swing Tips & Techniques
